Impression: Remember there is a big hill on the return near the Discovery Ctr parking lot. This is a beautiful trail that reveals the high desert and our modern life. Lava flow reveals are amongst the giant high power towers. Google's large secure prison of data servers are mixed with fishing platforms along a quieter Columbia River flowing westward. Expect heat in the summer; dehydration can catch you by surprise. Look for trees that beavers have sharpened their teeth upon! Lewis & Clark camped at Rock Fort three nights which has a few educational signs worth reading. Welcome to our High Desert.
